Wharton's Club for Everything Consulting!

Spring Recruiting

The Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club (WUCC) is seeking Penn undergraduate students to join one of its two constituent committees. Committees are a great way for freshmen and sophomore members to learn about the consulting industry, connect with consulting employers, and get involved with the internal operations of a major campus organization. Committee members are also first in-line to fill vacant positions on the WUCC Executive Board. Below is a brief description of the two committees that are recruiting:

Technology Consulting Committee will be responsible for consulting other Penn clubs on their technology needs including web site design, news updates, and brand identity. The committee also develops and markets its technology-based services and products for campus groups. Recommended skills (but not required) are HTML, PHP, SQL, Graphic Design.

The Publications Committee will be responsible for creating and distributing materials to fellow WUCC members. This committee will be a great way for members to actively learn about the consulting world. Materials range from interview preparation materials (general interview questions, and fit, sizing, and case interview questions) to a handbook about the various fields of consulting. This is a newly formed committee looking for organized and motivated individuals who work well in collaborative environments.

The application form is attached. The deadline for applications to join a WUCC committee is Friday, March 12, at 11:59pm. Submissions should be sent to sam@oldaks.com (Technology Consulting) and wterri@sas.upenn.edu (Publications) according to the instructions provided. WUCC Board & Committee Applications

Dear WUCC Members,

We appreciated the opportunity to meet many of you at the Fall General Body Meeting. As discussed at the meeting, the Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club (WUCC) is actively seeking new members to join its Executive Board and its committees. See below for more information:

Committee Applications

The Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club (WUCC) is seeking Penn undergraduate students to join one of its three constituent committees. The committee system is a great way for freshmen and sophomore members to learn about the consulting industry, connect with consulting employers, and get involved with the internal operations of a major campus organization. Committee members are also the first in-line to fill vacant positions on the WUCC Executive Board. The available committees are Marketing, Technology, and Corporate Relations. Below is a brief description of each committee:

  • Corporate Relations: Choose a firm and become the official liaison between that firm and WUCC. Inform consultants from your assigned firm about upcoming WUCC events and plan firm-centric events. Due to overwhelming demand, only several spots will be available on this committee this semester.
  • Technology: Do you have an interest in web development, e-commerce, server-side coding, or graphic design? The Technology committee consults Penn organizations on their technology needs including web site development, news updates, and brand identity. The committee also develops and markets its technology-based services and products for campus groups. Recommended skills (but not required) are HTML, PHP, SQL, Graphic Design.
  • Marketing: Work to create advertising campaigns for WUCC events; come up with new and innovative ways to increase student interest; be the first ones to find out about exciting WUCC panels and events.  Experience with graphic design is highly valued (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)

The deadline for applications to join a WUCC committee is Sunday September 27 at 11:59pm. Submissions should be sent to mcguffey@wharton.upenn.edu according to the instructions provided. The application to join a WUCC committee can be downloaded here.

Executive Board Positions

The Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club (WUCC) is seeking two Penn undergraduate students to join its Executive Board. The Executive Board is the club’s main leadership body, and is responsible for determining the club’s overall strategic direction and coordinating the club’s events, programs, and services.

WUCC is currently seeking applications for the following board positions:

  • Vice President of Finance
  • Vice President of Marketing

The deadline for applications to join a WUCC committee is Sunday September 27 at 11:59pm. Submissions should be sent to mcguffey@wharton.upenn.edu according to the instructions provided. The application to join a WUCC committee can be downloaded here.

Other information

  • Despite our Wharton appellation, WUCC is an all-inclusive organization – ALL Penn undergraduates are eligible to apply to the Executive Board or committees, regardless of age or undergraduate school. Past board members have been students at Wharton, College, and SEAS, and three current board members were accepted as freshmen.
  • Students are also permitted to apply for both the Board and committees, although they must submit both applications.
  • For those of you who were unable to make the General Body Meeting, you are still certainly welcome to apply to a committee or to our board.  We will be posting meeting minutes and slides from the GBM shortly.
  • Please direct all questions to mcguffey@wharton.upenn.edu.

Again, we appreciate your interest in the Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club. Good luck!

Sincerely,

2009 WUCC Executive Board
